hi, i absolutely love your comics!! fore fireweed moors, how did you figure out what file resolution and color palettes to use for the pages, they're so visually appealing
gatoiberico Answer:
Whoa, thank you so much!! I’m glad you like the comic!
For file resolution, I originally started with the standard 300dpi, but then decided to change over to 600dpi as I had heard or read from somewhere that it’s the default for printed comics.
As for colour, I normally pick whatever looks good from the colour wheel! I’ll pull palettes from reference images for accuracy, as well as try and think about what hues are related to certain emotions, too. One “method” I can share on how I find the exact colours I’m looking for is by using filters. For example, in Photoshop, I often use the following layer styles on regular colours to evoke different moods and flavours:

One of my favourite layer styles/modes to use is Difference with a red fill to obtain a red/cyan look. You designate one entire layer to that red fill, place it on top of your existing colour layer(s), play around with the opacity, and can get tons of cool looks.

By the way! If you’re interested to hear my take on colours and comics, I’ve got a vlog that talks about the subject!
